This Certificate II supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to begin a creative pathway in cultural arts. You’ll build foundational visual art and craft skills while strengthening understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity and applying it in an arts context. The course introduces basic drawing and painting, plus planning and completing day-to-day work activities, preparing you for further study or entry-level work in visual arts and crafts. The programme emphasises applied skills, workplace readiness, and technical competency for industry entry.

Graduates can seek entry-level opportunities in the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander arts sector, applying basic visual arts and craft skills in practical settings. You may work under guidance to create and present artworks, support exhibitions or community arts activities, and complete routine studio and work tasks. This Certificate II can also act as a stepping stone to further training in cultural arts and broader creative industries. Preparing graduates for skilled employment, traineeships, and pathways to higher qualifications.
