The Bachelor of Music provides advanced training across a variety of musical disciplines through an immersive and practical curriculum that combines music core studies, electives and breadth subjects. Students can specialise through majors including Jazz & Improvisation, building technical capability alongside creative practice and performance experience. The Jazz & Improvisation major emphasises individual, small-group and large-group performance and draws on diverse traditions including Australian Indigenous, non-Western, European and African-American jazz.

Students develop skills, knowledge and understanding of the practical, theoretical and conceptual aspects of music while broadening musical knowledge across a range of styles and repertoire.
