For entry into the specialisation, all applicants must meet the standard eligibility for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Degree with Honours), in addition to the following selection requirements: submission of a written proposal and a portfolio, plus an interview for shortlisted applicants only. The written proposal must be a 700–1000 word statement outlining the proposed research and summarising relevant experience. The portfolio must include selected video examples of practice as a dancer, choreographer, or performer, edited into a single clip under 10 minutes (or provided via a YouTube/Vimeo URL if files exceed 250MB, with no password protection). Shortlisted applicants must attend an online interview (approximately 30 minutes via Zoom) and be prepared to discuss the proposed creative/research project, motivation and expectations, commitment to research/practice work, and ability to support full-time study.
