This Chemistry (Advanced) major is part of Curtin’s Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) and is designed for high-performing students. You’ll build strong theoretical and practical chemistry capability through laboratory-focused study in synthesis, analysis and molecular modelling. The flexible major can include for-credit research experiences, industry placements and interdisciplinary projects, culminating in a final-year capstone chemistry project within an honours-level science degree.

Graduates can pursue chemistry-focused roles across laboratory, industry and applied research settings. Typical careers include analytical, industrial, medicinal, synthetic and environmental chemist, as well as roles such as forensic scientist or materials scientist.
