This Master of Philosophy (Health Science) is a higher degree by research where you complete an independent research project under academic supervision. It spans health-related disciplines including biomedical sciences, clinical sciences, medical radiation science, pharmaceutical sciences, psychology and behavioural science, and exercise, sport and rehabilitation science. You’ll be part of Curtin’s applied research environment with strong industry and community links in Health Sciences.

You’ll develop advanced research capability, including critically applying theoretical knowledge, analysing and synthesising complex evidence, and generating abstract ideas. You’ll learn to design, use and evaluate appropriate research methods, communicate research plans and findings to specialist and non-specialist audiences, and produce research that contributes original knowledge and/or professional practice in Health Sciences.

Graduates can pursue research-focused roles across hospitals, health services, universities, government and industry, supporting evidence-based practice and innovation. Possible pathways include research assistant/associate roles, research officer positions in clinical or public health settings, and progression to doctoral study. The qualification also supports leadership in projects involving evaluation, translation and implementation of research in Health Sciences. Preparing graduates for scientific research, R&D leadership, and doctoral study in the sciences.
