The Master of Pacific Studies offers research-led, transdisciplinary study of Oceania’s diversity and complexity. It foregrounds Indigenous Pacific voices, knowledges and methodologies while engaging with the region’s historical dynamics and contemporary issues. Students examine themes spanning culture, arts, linguistics, politics, security, development and research methods, drawing on ANU expertise. This is a one-year master’s program focused on Pacific Studies. The programme delivers postgraduate depth in theory, applied practice, and professional standards for specialist career progression.

Entry requirements

Applicants typically need a cognate bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 5/7. Pathways may include a cognate bachelor with GPA 4/7 plus a graduate certificate (GPA 4/7), or GPA 4/7 plus at least 3 years relevant ANZSCO Skill Level 1 experience; alternatively, a cognate graduate certificate/diploma with specified GPA and experience, or 10 years relevant experience. English language requirements also apply.
