The Foundation Studies Program (Standard) is a full-time pathway designed to prepare students for first-year undergraduate study at the University of Tasmania. It supports those who do not yet meet entry prerequisites and/or need to build English and academic skills for university learning. Completion requires passing all units, including English, to enable progression into eligible UTAS undergraduate degrees. This is a Foundation Studies pathway program. The programme builds core academic English, study skills, and subject fundamentals for university degree entry.

This program is a bridging pathway rather than a qualification leading directly to a specific job outcome. Graduates who successfully complete it may progress into the first year of selected University of Tasmania undergraduate degrees, improving readiness for further study and future careers in their chosen discipline. It strengthens academic study skills and English to support transition to undergraduate programs. This is a Foundation Studies pathway program. Supporting progression into undergraduate degree programmes in the chosen discipline.
