This apprenticeship-based Certificate III in Plumbing provides the trade qualification for work in plumbing across residential and commercial settings. You’ll develop practical capability in plumbing services, including installation and maintenance, aligned to Victorian Building Authority expectations and supporting pathways to plumber registration in Victoria and mutual recognition across other states and New Zealand. Delivery includes structured block training with additional independent learning through Federation TAFE.

Graduates can work as trade plumbers in a range of settings, with skills suited to installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing services. The course supports employment outcomes such as plumber, plumber and drainer, roof plumber, gasfitter, and plumber and gasfitter. With further selected Certificate IV units, you may progress toward specialist licensing areas including gasfitting, roofing, mechanical services, sanitary, drainage and water within the plumbing industry. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
Entry requirements
Must be employed as an apprentice Plumber.
