This Humanities and Social Sciences Education Major (History) builds the content knowledge and pedagogy needed to teach History, including senior secondary (Years 11–12), and to contribute across the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum for Years 7–12. You’ll also choose a second teaching-area specialisation through a minor teaching area or broader HASS study, as part of the Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education) at Curtin. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.

Graduates are prepared to teach History in secondary schools, including senior secondary History, and to teach more broadly across Humanities and Social Sciences subjects in Years 7–12. The major supports pathways into secondary teaching roles in schools and related education settings, with an additional teaching specialisation to widen subject coverage. This is an undergraduate teacher-education specialisation in Education & Teaching. Preparing graduates for teaching, education support, and learning development roles in schools and colleges.
