Economics is the science of allocating scarce resources to achieve desired ends. It has evolved into a broad discipline that helps us understand historical trends, interpret current events, and make reasoned predictions about the future. Economists study the incentives that shape the decisions individuals, businesses and governments, and the organisation and functioning of societies. Modern economic analysis draws upon insights from other social sciences and technological advances in data analysis to develop creative solutions for local and global problems.
