This higher degree by research lets you undertake a PhD through the Deakin Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation (IISRI) with expert supervision. You will develop an original research project, supported by principal and associate supervisors, and complete a thesis based on your investigation. Study can be undertaken on campus or online with flexible full-time or part-time equivalent options in engineering. The programme applies rigorous engineering research methods to address complex technical challenges and advance sustainable innovation.

Graduates are prepared for advanced research and specialist engineering careers in academia, government or industry, using strong analytical and project leadership skills developed through doctoral investigation.
