The First Nations Pre-Law Program is an intensive enabling program designed to introduce First Nations students to university law study. It builds foundational academic capability and legal skills such as research, writing, reasoning and advocacy, with face-to-face classes and tutor support. The program also strengthens connections with peers, CDU staff and the legal community, and provides a pathway into CDU’s Bachelor of Laws in Law. The programme develops legal knowledge and analytical skills aligned with its qualification level and professional expectations.

This enabling program helps prepare First Nations students for further tertiary study and entry into a law degree by developing confidence, academic readiness and introductory legal skills. Graduates may progress into CDU’s Bachelor of Laws and work toward careers across the legal and justice sector, including legal practice, community legal services, policy and advocacy roles, and related public sector pathways in Law. Preparing graduates for law-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
