关于课程
This two-year MSc develops expertise in analysing biological data using statistical, mathematical and computational approaches. It is designed for students from biology who need stronger quantitative and programming skills, as well as students from quantitative backgrounds who need biological foundations. You will build research and communication capability through project work in ANU research and professional team environments.
你可能学到什么
You will learn to organise, manage and interpret complex biological datasets using modern bioinformatics, data science and quantitative modelling methods. The program builds capability in programming, statistics and computational analysis alongside key biological concepts. Through coursework and research-focused projects, you strengthen scientific reasoning, research design, teamwork and communication skills for work in interdisciplinary life-science settings.
职业成果
Graduates are prepared for roles that combine life science with data analysis, including bioinformatics analyst, computational biologist, biostatistics or data science roles in biomedical research, genomics and health. Skills are relevant to laboratories, research institutes, government and industry settings requiring quantitative analysis of biological data, as well as pathways into further research training or higher degrees.
Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0. They must also have completed at least 8 courses in a cognate discipline with a cognate GPA of at least 5.0/7.0 (the best 8 cognate courses may be used if more were completed). Applicants must also meet ANU English language requirements; admission is competitive.
