This Master of Research (Psychology) builds advanced research capability and critical problem-solving for professional psychology practice. You’ll develop skills to plan, analyse, evaluate and communicate sophisticated research, supported by Curtin’s applied, industry-connected research environment. It provides a foundation for developing expertise through an original research project in Psychology at master by research level. The programme develops research expertise in human behaviour, psychological measurement, and evidence-based intervention design.

Graduates are prepared for research-focused roles supporting evidence-based psychology practice across universities, health and community services, government and industry. The degree strengthens skills in research design, data analysis, evaluation and communication, supporting progression to doctoral study or work as a research officer, assistant or project analyst. Career pathways align with master by research training in Psychology. Preparing graduates for psychology research, clinical and organisational specialist roles, and doctoral study.
Entry requirements
This course is only available to current Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) students at Curtin. Only applicants who achieve a final Honours grade of 2A or above are eligible.
