This laboratory-based, interdisciplinary program prepares students to preserve art and cultural objects for future generations through hands-on conservation training and collaboration with senior heritage professionals. Students engage with Indigenous-focused projects and work with partner organisations and institutions, including Museums Victoria and CSIRO. The course draws on the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation and the University’s campus collections, galleries, libraries, archives and museums.

The program’s internships and industry links support pathways into professional conservation practice in Australia and internationally.
Entry requirements
English language requirement: IELTS 6.5 with no band less than 6.0. Access Melbourne entry scheme is available.
