The HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing is a vocational qualification preparing you to work as an Enrolled Nurse and providing a pathway into second year of UOW’s Bachelor of Nursing. You’ll develop clinical communication and care skills, practise in simulation labs, and complete at least 400 hours of arranged clinical placement across Illawarra and Sydney settings. Study is on campus in Wollongong or Liverpool over 18 months. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.

Graduates can pursue roles as an Enrolled Nurse in a range of healthcare environments, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses. Employment settings may include hospitals and acute wards, sub-acute and rehabilitation services, and other clinical care facilities where patient monitoring, medication assistance, wound care and support are required. This Diploma in Nursing also supports progression to further nursing study at UOW. Preparing graduates for nursing assistant, care worker, and clinical support roles, or degree articulation.
