This Diploma of Community Services builds practical skills for work across diverse community settings. You will develop capability in case management, client support, advocacy and community engagement, alongside leadership and communication skills. The course is designed to help you promote social justice and support individuals and communities with complex needs through applied, job-focused training at diploma level in community services. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.

Graduates can work across community services fields such as mental health, child protection, alcohol and other drugs support, housing services, domestic and family violence support, disability services and youth work. Common roles include case coordinator, community housing worker, community program coordinator, early intervention worker and family support worker. This diploma can also provide a pathway to further study in social sciences, including social work. Preparing graduates for community support, welfare assistant, and care coordination roles, or degree articulation.
