The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is a 6-month program that introduces core public health concepts and methods to understand patterns of health and disease. You’ll build foundational skills to help reduce preventable illness, injury and death, supported by UQ’s links with major global health organisations. Study covers areas such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, environmental health and health systems, at graduate-certificate level in health sciences.

This graduate certificate can support entry or progression in public health roles across government, hospitals, NGOs and international health agencies. It builds capability to contribute to health promotion, disease prevention, program planning and evaluation, and population-health analysis using epidemiological and biostatistical approaches. Graduates may work in community health, policy support, research assistance or health project coordination, and can pathway into further study in public health at graduate level in health sciences.
