This postgraduate course builds specialised skills in dementia care and leadership to better support people living with dementia. You can tailor your study through two pathways—dementia care or leadership and policy—while studying part-time and fully online. It is designed to develop advanced, person-centred practice and leadership capability and can be completed in as little as one year as a Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.

Graduates can specialise in dementia care and leadership across service delivery, policy and program development in aged care and community settings. Roles may include dementia program developer, dementia care consultant/educator, policy or project officer, and dementia advocate or advisor, with leadership opportunities depending on professional background. Employers include aged care providers, advocacy organisations, health and community care services, and local, state or federal government for a Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences.
Entry requirements
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related field.
