This course develops contemporary performing arts practice through original, self-devised and collaborative projects. You’ll build coherent theoretical, technical and practical performance knowledge while exploring new approaches to researching, producing, presenting and analysing contemporary work. Across the degree you’ll strengthen critical thinking and creative problem-solving, with increasing independence and teamwork, and opportunities in third year to focus on a chosen discipline within performing arts at bachelor level.

Graduates are prepared for creative practice and production roles across the contemporary performing arts sector. The course supports pathways into performance making, devising and collaboration, as well as roles involved in producing and presenting work for stage and related contexts. Skills in creative problem-solving, independent project development and team-based production can support work with theatre and arts organisations, festivals, and community or cultural projects. Outcomes align with entry-level professional practice in the performing arts at bachelor level.
