Build a strong foundation in diagnostic pathology and the science of disease in this hands-on Laboratory Medicine degree. You’ll develop professional skills in handling patient samples, laboratory testing and interpreting results across areas such as haematology, immunology, histopathology and molecular pathology. Choose from three streams and complete Work Integrated Learning in your fourth year to apply knowledge in real workplace settings in laboratory medicine. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.

Graduates can pursue roles in public or private diagnostic pathology services and research laboratories, applying laboratory testing to support clinical decisions. Career paths may include medical scientist, technical officer, laboratory technician, research scientist or medical representative, with opportunities across health and life science research and related industries.
