Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours)

This course allows graduates of M2014 Bachelor of Health Sciences and M2012 Bachelor of Public Health to undertake an honours year of study. Graduates from other disciplines with equivalent studies may also be eligible for entry into this honours course. Supervision of honours projects will be primarily provided by staff from the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, although opportunity exists for you to identify a project and co-supervisor with Monash partner organisations such as the Burnet Institute, the Baker-IDI (Heart and Diabetes Institute), and others.

Graduates are prepared for research-focused and analytical roles across public health, health services and policy settings. Typical pathways include research assistant or honours-level researcher roles, public health officer positions, and project or evaluation roles in hospitals, government, NGOs and research institutes. The degree also provides a strong foundation for further postgraduate study or research training in health sciences at honours level. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
