QUT’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science explores human health and disease through laboratory-focused study from first year. You’ll build foundations in areas such as anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and biotechnology, and develop professional skills through practical classes and opportunities for research or industry-connected experiences. The degree is designed to let you tailor later study towards your interests within biomedical science at bachelor level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue laboratory and biomedical roles across research institutes, hospitals and health services, and biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries. Typical pathways include laboratory-based bioscience work (e.g., biomedical research assistant, biochemist, physiology-related roles) and supporting roles in clinical or translational research teams. With additional study, the degree can also support progression into medicine or other health-related professional programs. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
