Study animal and plant biology and the processes that shape life’s diversity, with a focus on evolution, adaptation and diversification in Australian and global environments. You’ll build a strong foundation in biological sciences and ecological thinking, and develop practical and analytical skills relevant to understanding and protecting biodiversity. This extended major is designed for undergraduate study in biodiversity and evolutionary science. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles across biodiversity and conservation-focused sectors, including environmental and ecological consulting, natural resource and land management, and government agencies involved in regulation and monitoring.
