This APAC-accredited honours year deepens your applied understanding of human behaviour and provides the fourth-year psychology qualification within a sequence leading toward psychologist registration. You’ll complete advanced psychology study alongside an independent research project and thesis under active researchers. The course builds strong skills in research methods, statistics, assessment principles and counselling, taught in a supportive small-cohort environment at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus.

Graduates gain advanced psychological knowledge and research capability suited to roles where understanding behaviour is critical. Career directions include support and program roles across mental health, welfare, disability services, public service and business settings, as well as research assistance and evaluation work. Completing this honours year supports eligibility for provisional registration pathways and can be used as preparation for higher degree research (e.g., PhD) in psychology.
