This combined degree builds expertise in exercise science and psychology, focusing on how physical activity and psychological factors influence health, performance and quality of life. You’ll study areas such as biomechanics, exercise physiology and major psychology fields including development and neuroscience, while strengthening research, writing and teamwork skills. In fourth year you can apply your learning through an industry placement, preparing for pathways toward registered practice in both disciplines.

Graduates can work across sport, fitness and health settings, applying exercise science and psychology knowledge to improve participation, performance and wellbeing. Typical roles include sports or exercise scientist, strength and conditioning coach, and sport and recreation officer, with opportunities in sports teams, gyms, peak sporting bodies, health promotion and local government. With further study, pathways may lead to exercise physiologist, registered psychologist or sport and exercise psychologist roles.
