Chinese New Year usually brings about the hope of wealth and success in our career for the year. At AUG, we aspire to help your students achieve their career success that would bring about riches in wealth, health and purpose fulfillment.
On a lighter note, here are some Chinese New Year taboos to avoid to fend off bad fortune. We are not superstitious (we swear!) but better be safe then sorry right?? - Don’t wash hair on the first day of Chinese New Year. ‘Hair’ in Chinese has the same character as ‘to get rich’. Thus, washing hair on New Year’s Day signifies washing away fortune.
- No sweeping! Cleaning or throwing out garbage may sweep away good luck instead.
- Avoid borrowing money. This custom is a display of mutual understanding. It allows everyone to celebrate without worries. If one knock on another’s door demanding repayment, you’ll bring bad luck to both parties. You could result to borrowing the entire year.
