Celebrated on the 16th of September, Malaysia Day signifies the coming together of the Federation of Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak. Regardless of being a complex multiracial country, Malaysians have stood united and strong to support one another in this time of difficulty and need.

Qualification vs Experience: Which leads to better career prospects?

Gaining academic qualifications to apply for a higher education or to secure a job is one of the dated dynamics that is still present up to this modern society. Although at some point, employers are keen to hire skilled workers solely based on their working experience, degree is still an entry criteria for most jobs. Such demands draw a line of question to which side should people resort to.

The truth is, this is not an either/or situation. Employers want both as they would like to see theoretical and practical skills from candidate. Hence, both experience and school credentials are indeed vital in every aspect of qualification and career hunt. Academic is never above experience and vice versa, but both can lead students to their niche.

Following the government's announcement for Full Movement Control Order (FMCO) on 28 May, most of our offices remain close until further notice, with the exception of a few where we have resume physical operations. AUG Kuching is now available for walk-in. Our PTE/UCAT test center at Subang Jaya remains in operation.

In the mean while, you can still speak to AUG’s Experienced Counselor virtually via Zoom. We will be able to assist you anywhere you may be.

To simplify, actuarial science is a discipline which calculates risk. It applies the mathematics of probability and statistics to define, analyze, and solve the financial implications of uncertain future events.
