关于课程
This two-year advanced masters develops deep capability in nuclear science and its applications across research, medicine, industry, energy and policy. Combining high-level coursework with substantial projects, students gain access to specialised facilities and expert researchers, including laboratory-based training. The program is designed to build rigorous scientific understanding to engage with nuclear issues using evidence and analysis.
你可能学到什么
You will study fundamentals and applications of nuclear science, including radiation, reactor and fuel-cycle concepts, accelerators, measurement, materials analysis and dating techniques. The program builds advanced technical knowledge alongside research and communication skills through coursework, laboratory training, and a supervised research project culminating in a thesis and oral presentation, preparing you for informed, analytical work in nuclear-related fields.
职业成果
Graduates may pursue roles in fundamental or applied research (universities, medical and industrial settings), nuclear and radiation-related regulation and compliance, and technical advisory work across mining, energy and advanced manufacturing. The degree also supports careers in government and agencies in areas such as radiation protection, border/customs and security, defence analysis, and public policy development related to nuclear technologies.
Entry requirements
Applicants typically need a relevant bachelor degree in a cognate discipline (such as physics or closely related science/engineering), meeting ANU postgraduate admission requirements. Entry may be competitive and based on academic performance. Progression to the research component requires at least a 70% weighted average mark in coursework and approval of an identified supervisor, with projects commonly requiring on-campus attendance.
