This apprenticeship qualification develops the skills and knowledge required of an Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical in metal, engineering, manufacturing and related industries. Training is designed for apprentices and is delivered through a combination of on-the-job experience and off-the-job learning, with recognition of prior skills also available. This is a Certificate III course in mechanical engineering trades. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates are prepared for trade roles in mechanical engineering and manufacturing settings, with pathways into workshop and plant environments. Typical opportunities include fitting and turning, mechanical maintenance fitting and broader manufacturing work supporting installation, repair and upkeep of mechanical equipment and components. This is a Certificate III pathway into mechanical trade employment in engineering industries. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.

You must have an apprenticeship in engineering.
