This graduate certificate provides a focused introduction to core management practice through an evidence-based management approach. It can be completed as a standalone qualification or used as a pathway into ANU master’s study for applicants who may not meet traditional entry routes. You will complete a compulsory Evidence-Based Management course plus electives drawn from key business disciplines within the ANU College of Business and Economics.

You will build practical capability in using research and high-quality evidence to inform managerial decisions. The program develops your ability to understand evidence-based management principles, evaluate and appraise the quality of information, and apply insights ethically in organisational settings. Elective study allows you to strengthen technical business knowledge and broaden skills in areas such as management, marketing, information systems and international business.

Graduates can pursue roles requiring strong analytical decision-making and broad business foundations across private, public and not-for-profit organisations. The program supports progression into management and team-lead roles, including business operations, project coordination, marketing and strategy support, and roles involving organisational improvement. It also provides a credible stepping stone into further postgraduate business study for career advancement.
Entry requirements
Applicants need a recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent) with minimum GPA 4.0/7.0, or a graduate certificate/diploma with GPA 4.0/7.0, or 24 postgraduate units with GPA 4.0/7.0. Alternative entry may be via GMAT (min 550 plus writing 5.0) or GRE (155/155/4.0) with relevant work experience, or substantial relevant professional/managerial experience. English language requirements also apply.
