The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares you to become a registered midwife and support women and newborns across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. You’ll build skills in providing safe, person-centred care that responds to psychological, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs. Clinical learning is embedded throughout, including continuity of care experiences following women from early pregnancy through to postnatal care in hospital and community settings.

Graduates can pursue careers across maternity and community health services, applying clinical and education skills to support women and families. Typical roles include registered midwife in maternity settings, consultant midwife, clinical specialist, antenatal educator, researcher and independent midwifery practitioner. Opportunities may also extend to family care services and special care nurseries, with practice in hospital, birth centre and community-based settings as a Bachelor-level midwifery qualification.
