This major is part of Curtin’s Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) and focuses on understanding environmental systems and developing practical skills to manage them. You’ll build advanced capability in sustainability, environmental monitoring, climate-related challenges and natural resource management, supported by immersive projects and leadership and entrepreneurship learning. You’ll also engage with research leaders and industry experts in an honours-level environmental science pathway.

Graduates can pursue diverse roles supporting sustainable resource management, biodiversity and ecosystem protection, and reducing impacts from climate change, pollution and urbanisation. Opportunities span consulting and regulatory work, conservation and natural resource management, and mine restoration and remediation. In Western Australia, demand is driven by resources, energy and agriculture, as well as government policy, planning, and research and development for honours-level environmental science careers.
