This Away from Base Bachelor of Education (Primary) is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to qualify as primary teachers while living and working in their local communities. You will study education theory alongside practical classroom preparation and attend two compulsory one-week residentials in Strathfield each semester. The degree includes supervised school placements and focuses on social, political and cultural contexts of schooling in a Bachelor-level teacher education program.

Graduates can pursue registration and employment as primary school teachers across government, Catholic, independent and other faith-based schools, with preparation aligned to accredited initial teacher education requirements. The program also supports pathways into broader education-related roles such as education administration, policy and program work in government or community settings, group facilitation, and research activities that contribute to improving Indigenous education outcomes as a Bachelor-level qualification in Education & Teaching.
