This four-year undergraduate program explores Asia-Pacific regional affairs through ANU strengths in politics and government, international relations and security, conflict and peacebuilding, and history and cultural identity. It is delivered in partnership with Ritsumeikan University in Japan and is designed to build understanding of transnational forces and contemporary challenges shaping the region and its diverse cultures.

You will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of the Asia-Pacific, drawing on political, security, peace and conflict, and historical and cultural perspectives. The program aims to strengthen your ability to analyse regional issues, evaluate policy and governance challenges, and communicate across cultural contexts. A key feature is structured mobility and cross-crediting between ANU and Ritsumeikan University.

Graduates can pursue roles that require strong regional and international affairs capability, including government and diplomacy, policy and security analysis, international development, NGOs, and research. Entry requirements
Applicants are assessed under ANU undergraduate admission requirements. The published minimum selection rank for this program is ATAR 82. Applicants may be eligible for adjustment factors depending on their background and circumstances. Program information indicates this pathway is intended for domestic students, with limited places available each year for those commencing at ANU.
