Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating (SIIT) was established in 2008 and is currently the first vocational institution registered by the Australian Department of Education to teach translation and interpreting qualifications. With three campuses in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, SIIT has a team of professional teachers who all hold tertiary education qualifications at Master and PhD level and NAATI professional level (e.g. Level 3) or above in translation and interpreting, and have many years of experience in teaching and working.
SIIT has a total of over 20,000 graduates now. The courses taught by SIIT are endorsed by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). SIIT is also the only Australian and New Zealand partner of the China Foreign Language Bureau CATTI and an overseas examination centre of CATTI. SIIT also offers local vocational qualifications such as Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Certificates in Real Estate and Mortgage industry.
