The burden that a student carries can be massive as you deal with social networks, pressure to excel and meeting parents’ expectations together with the stress from studies and future career planning.*

Here are 4 baby steps you can take to start shifting that focus onto yourself.

  1. Stop overthinking!

Analysing helps you prepare for the worst. However, when the thinking goes overboard, it can lead to unhealthy habits like focusing on the negative or  worrying about the future which will then hinder yourself from taking action. So, you need to set a deadline to take action and do it.

  1. Meditation

Throw away the misconception of meditation is for “Spiritual People”. It’s a tool you can use to bring yourself back to the present in stressful situations. If you are a beginner, seek out basic guided meditations when getting started. It could be as short as one minute to start making a difference.

  1. DND mode (Do Not Disturb)

Put your phone to Do Not Disturb mode and disconnect from the online world. Social media is definitely fun and you might be surprised by how relatable the videos are (algorithm is doing its work!). But digital detoxing is also a way for people to let go of the stress from the constant connectivity.

  1. SLEEP

Mom always nags us to sleep early or blame our sickness for not sleeping enough, but there is always a reason behind it. Sufficient sleep allows your body and mind to recharge, at the same time improve concentration and productivity.
