The Master of Food Science prepares science or engineering graduates for specialist careers in the food industry, with a strong foundation in food chemistry, food processing, sensory science, food safety and microbiology. The course combines core disciplinary training with career-focused electives and the opportunity to complete an original research project. Students develop industry-ready capability for roles across product development, regulation, nutrition assessment and quality assurance.

Students learn advanced scientific principles underpinning food formulation, processing, safety and quality, and how these are applied to real-world food systems. The program develops practical and professional skills through industry-relevant electives, building capability in areas such as sustainability, nutrition and management. It also aims to build research competence by training students to plan, execute and communicate an independent research project.

Kết quả nghề nghiệp

Graduates can pursue careers in product research and development, food manufacturing and quality assurance, and food safety, compliance and regulation. The degree supports pathways into roles involving nutrition assessment, formulation optimisation, and ensuring safe and stable food processing and production. Graduates may also progress toward research-focused study (e.g., MPhil or PhD) depending on performance and requirements.
