You will build skills in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, then apply these tools to environmental and natural resource policy questions. The course emphasises quantitative methods, evidence-based evaluation and cost–benefit style reasoning for complex decisions involving climate, energy, land, water and sustainability. Through advanced and contextual electives plus a research-based project, you develop the ability to analyse policy trade-offs and communicate economic insights clearly.

Applicants need a recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent) with GPA 5/7; or GPA 4/7 with either a related graduate certificate/diploma, 48 postgraduate units at GPA 4/7, or at least 3 years relevant ANZSCO Skill Level 1 work experience. A GRE General Test pathway may be accepted (minimum 150 Verbal, 160 Quantitative, 3.5 Writing) with 3 years relevant experience. Extensive relevant work experience may also be considered.
