CDU’s Graduate Diploma of Linguistic Studies builds postgraduate capability to analyse, evaluate and apply linguistic knowledge to language use across diverse contexts. You develop theoretical foundations while engaging with contemporary practice and research, including First Nations, Australian, Asian and global perspectives. The course is available on campus or online and is structured around TESOL, forensic linguistics, language revitalisation and maintenance, and general linguistics.

Graduates may pursue roles and professional pathways where language analysis and language-focused practice are central. Career directions include applied and forensic linguistics, language education and TESOL-related work, education and language policy development, and language revitalisation and maintenance initiatives. The qualification can also support further study progression, including continuing into a Master of Applied Linguistics in the language and linguistics discipline. Preparing graduates for education leadership, instructional design, and advanced teaching specialist roles.
