This diploma provides an undergraduate pathway focused on ageing studies and services, developing a holistic understanding of the ageing process and contemporary issues affecting older people. Delivered by the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, it explores social and biological aspects of ageing, chronicity and palliative care, discrimination, public health, and aged care policy and administration. It is designed for those working with, or planning to work with, older adults in health and community settings.

Graduates may work across aged care, community and health services supporting older people, applying knowledge of ageing, service systems and policy. Potential roles include aged care or community support worker/supervisor, care coordinator, program or service support officer, client services roles, and administrative roles in organisations delivering aged and palliative care services. The diploma also supports professional development for those already employed in sectors working with older adults in health sciences.
