This degree prepares you for professional social work practice with a focus on human rights, social justice and improving individual and community wellbeing. You’ll learn to address issues such as inequality, discrimination and violence, supported by a strong practice-based approach. High-achieving students can access an embedded honours pathway from third year. It is a four-year Bachelor degree in Sociology & Social Work. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.

Graduates may work across community and human services settings, supporting individuals, families and communities. Typical pathways include community development, case management, mental health and hospital social work, child protection and family services. Roles can also extend to policy analysis and development, program planning, research and social action work within government and non-government organisations. This is a Bachelor-level pathway into Sociology & Social Work careers. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
