Study marine and coastal systems and build practical skills in modern marine technologies such as seabed mapping, fish assessment sonar and oceanographic sensors. You’ll gain extensive field experience in tropical environments, including opportunities at JCU’s Orpheus Island Research Station and on reefs along the Great Barrier Reef, preparing you for professional work in marine science at bachelor level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates may pursue careers across marine and coastal sectors including environmental monitoring, reef and fisheries assessment, marine resource management and consulting.
