Develop the understanding required to tackle the many problems that affect marine ecosystems and the industries, environments and communities they support. You'll first gain the necessary foundations in the basic sciences, before focusing on your choice of specialisation. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles across marine and coastal science, environmental monitoring and management, and marine research support. Opportunities may exist with government agencies, environmental consultancies, conservation organisations, and marine industries where skills in marine ecosystems, data collection and analysis, and fieldwork are valued. The programme also provides a pathway to further study and research in ocean and coastal disciplines as a Bachelor-level qualification in Environmental Science.
