The Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) lets you deepen expertise in a chosen IT discipline while building advanced analytical and research skills. You’ll tackle complex problems using abstraction and modelling, and explore how technology affects organisations and society. Guided by an experienced researcher, you complete an individual project culminating in an honours thesis, providing a pathway to higher-degree research in IT & Computer Science. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.

Graduates can pursue advanced IT roles across business, government and industry, including web developer, database manager, network administrator, e-commerce developer, data communications specialist, software engineer, systems programmer, systems analyst or programmer. The honours qualification can also support progression into leadership and specialist positions such as CTO/CIO, business analyst, manager, executive or entrepreneur, and provides a pathway into academia and research in IT & Computer Science.
