UQ’s Bachelor of Health, Sport and Physical Education (Honours) prepares you to promote healthy, active lifestyles through teaching and leadership in schools. You’ll combine professional education studies with the science of human movement, including biomechanics, motor development, psychology and exercise physiology, with strong links to the Australian Curriculum and teacher standards. Extensive practical experiences build confidence in real classroom and sporting settings in this honours-level education and sport programme.

Graduates are prepared for careers supporting young people’s health and physical activity, particularly as health, sport and physical education teachers, with potential to also teach senior biology. The honours focus develops advanced skills and research capability that can support leadership roles in schools, curriculum and wellbeing initiatives, and provides a pathway to further study such as PhD research. This is an honours bachelor qualification aligned to education and teaching in health and sport contexts.
