The Screenwriting specialisation is designed for students who want to write audience-driven stories for the screen. You study cinematic and television writing, youth market writing, adaptation, writing for games and web content through lectures, classes, screenings and practice-based exercises. In the final year you collaboratively develop and write an original web series alongside film and television students, while also taking breadth subjects across the wider University.

The course builds capability in generating and adapting stories for different screen platforms, presenting work at a professional standard, and giving and receiving constructive feedback. It also develops collaborative practice and critical understanding of screen culture to support creative decision-making.

Graduates can pursue roles in screen industries as screenwriters across film and television, as well as in games and online/digital content. The skill set also supports work as a screen content developer and in writing-focused roles within production and screen media companies. Experience in collaborative development and producing industry-standard scripts strengthens employability across contemporary screen storytelling sectors.
