This undergraduate major builds knowledge and practical skills in data science and computing, covering the lifecycle of working with data. You’ll develop capabilities in collecting, cleaning and converting data, analysing and visualising results, and interpreting insights for decision-making. The course also introduces core concepts for managing data at scale, including storage, search, synthesis and cloud management in an IT & Computer Science bachelor pathway. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.

Graduates may pursue roles that apply computing and data science skills to real-world problems across industry and government. Typical pathways include data analyst, data scientist, business intelligence analyst, data engineer, analytics consultant, and roles supporting cloud-based data platforms. The major also provides a foundation for further study in advanced computing, machine learning and related IT & Computer Science areas within an undergraduate qualification. Preparing graduates for software development, IT support, data analysis, and technology consultancy entry roles.
