The Bachelor of Applied Science (Indigenous Professional Practices) offers study in a culturally appropriate environment focused on Indigenous mental health and community development. You’ll build skills to support positive change through Indigenous knowledge, mental healthcare and community development practice, plus planning, implementing and evaluating projects. The course prepares you for work applying Indigenous knowledge and community development approaches in organisations delivering mental health and health promotion programs. Typical pathways include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health worker and health promotion officer roles in community services, government and Indigenous-controlled health services as a bachelor-level qualification in sociology and social work.
