This three-year undergraduate degree responds to global demand for data analytics expertise. You will build practical skills to manage and analyse data, including database and data-wrangling techniques, statistical analysis and modelling, and methods for finding patterns and insights. The program develops the ability to apply analytics to real decision contexts, communicate evidence clearly, and integrate perspectives from computing, statistics and social research to frame questions, evaluate data quality, and choose appropriate analytical approaches.

Graduates are prepared for roles applying data analytics in government, industry and research settings. Typical pathways include data analyst, business or insights analyst, junior data scientist, analytics consultant, and roles in policy or social research where evidence-based decisions are essential. Skills developed in databases, data mining, statistical learning and research methods also support further study or work in technology, analytics teams and interdisciplinary project environments.

Entry is based on meeting ANU undergraduate admission requirements, including a competitive selection rank. The published indicative requirements include ATAR 90 or International Baccalaureate (IB) 33. Applicants should also review any prerequisites and the availability of adjustment factors, and follow the ANU admissions process for the relevant applicant category (domestic or international).
